EVANGELISM IN AMERICA
Packard, William
Paragon (September 1988): Reverted

This book presents a lively and even-handed consideration of Christian evangelism through the centuries, from the Crusades and the malevolent flowering of the Inquisition, down to the phenomenally popular television evangelists and their legions of fans and followers. The author focuses his attention on the American preachers and evangelists including Jonathan Edwards, General William Booth, Dwight L. Moody, Billy Sunday, and Father Divine. William Packard is the founder and editor of The New York Quarterly, the influential national poetry magazine. He is also the great-grandson of Dwight L. Moody.
